Folk Music
Daniela Sarda – vocals, guitar, drums
Ralph Sonderegger – bass, guitar

The windy-nostalgic sound of Sarda has been developed by the musician Daniela Sarda on decayed instruments in the hills of Sardinia. With canzoni in which sinners turn out to be saints and truth is sung with lies.

In the barren hinterland of Olbia, the musician also met Poldo, the blind dog of her sound technician Raffaele. When Poldo would lie motionless in front of the studio for hours at a time, Raffaele would explain, “Sta pensando.” – “He thinks.” What was initially interpreted as quirky Sardinian humor devel-oped a dimension that prompted Daniela and band to return to Sardinia again a year later to add a 40-minute pop opus to the Olbia cycle: The Poldo Suite. Many years later, this sound is now reawakened and these musical gems will be heard in intimate instrumentation at Pavillon Le Corbusier.
