Improvisation
Saxophonist, musician and theorist Tapiwa Svosve engages in multidisciplinary practices: he combines sound with theater, painting and history. Out of the sound of free jazz, extreme avant-garde or noise music emerge ideas about silence, negative spaces and the negotiation of body and instrument. For the concert at Pavillon Le Corbusier, he is working on the first live release of his new work WOODWORKS VOL. I, which in its form oscillates (in-)constantly between sound installation and performance: collapsing ideas in a shared mass of grey, our muddled memories intertwined (for multiple speakers, saxo-phone, flute and cassette tapes (1986-2023)).
